Quiet is right. These fans are nearly silent most of the time. When run at full speed, they're still not as noisy as the standard fans that came with my case. These are best when used in PWM mode, which requires the 4-pin power connector on your motherboard or fan controller. That allows the board to change the fan speed as needed. A standard DC (3-pin) connector will work, but then the fans will always run at a constant speed. Installation tip for cases with little clearance for a screwdriver: The screw holes are unthreaded and tight. Before you install the fans, drive the screws in and then remove them. That will thread the holes, reducing the effort needed to drive in the screws when mounting the fans.
