Best RAM 2026

Memory is one of the cheapest, highest-impact upgrades in a PC. The right kit clears multitasking stutter and feeds your CPU at the speed your platform supports — without paying for headroom you can't use.

FROM THE SHOPThe single upgrade I recommend most often at the shop. 8→16GB ends stutter; 16→32GB matters more every year.

What to consider when choosing ram:

Capacity — 16GB is the floor in 2026; 32GB is the comfortable sweet spot
Type — DDR5 or DDR4, dictated by your motherboard
Speed (MHz) and CAS latency — higher speed and lower latency help, especially on AMD
Kit layout — two sticks for dual-channel beats a single stick

COMMON MISTAKE

Buying a single stick instead of a matched pair, which halves memory bandwidth and can noticeably cut frame rates.
