💡 How to pick memory
What to look for:
  • Must match your motherboard type (DDR4 or DDR5)
  • 16GB minimum for gaming, 32GB for content creation
  • Higher speed (MT/s) = better performance, especially for AMD
💰 Look for kits in 2 sticks (e.g. 2x8GB, 2x16GB) for dual-channel performance

★★★★★RECOMMENDED!
With RAM costs and finding it in stock being so up and down lately – remember Ramageddon? – Crucial DDR5 RAM is a sensible, good option for those putting a PC together or improving one they already have. It gives you the performance you’d want from proper, newest memory almost as soon as it is in the DIMM slot. Crucial’s DDR5 pieces do well in actual use – no matter if you are playing games, doing lots of things at once with a great number of browser windows open, changing content, or using programs which need a lot of memory. You’ll find loading goes more smoothly and there is more space for things running in the background, when matched to older DDR4 PCs. What is most striking is the evenness of it: this isn’t only to look good on specs. The delay and speed are as good as more costly DDR5 sets, and Crucial is able to hold heat down without showy RGB or too much advertising. For people who want stable work without paying extra only as DDR5 is “in,” this is a true benefit. A further benefit is it works with things. Crucial has a long history of good memory which does well on different platforms, and DDR5 does the same – so it is easier to use with Intel and AMD systems similarly, without hours of BIOS changing. To sum up: Crucial DDR5 RAM provides sure, real performance at a price people can manage, which is what many who build are wanting at the moment. If you need DDR5 performance which isn’t too expensive or gives up when working hard, this set is one of the better buys available.

★★★★★Good RAM at a decent price
Ram is hella expensive right now but these are a bit cheaper than others. Works great with no issues.

★★★★★High-performance RAM at a relatively reasonable price in an unreasonable time
The Crucial Pro DDR5-6400 CL32 RAM costs the same as or less than slower memory from other manufacturers (DDR5-5200, DDR5-5600, DDR5-6000, or DDR5-6400 at higher CAS). Memory prices were unreasonably high when I bought it in February 2026, but the Crucial Pro was less unreasonable than most. (IIRC it was an Amazon "Overall Pick" at the time) It has been working well so far. I enabled EXPO timings in the UEFI BIOS and got exactly the speed I paid for. Once memory prices come down from the stratosphere, I plan to get another set of these for a total of 64 GB.

★★★★★Great RAM for Asus B850-G
Bought this ram before the ram-pocalypse escalated to where it is now. Paid $200 and was upset that I did not buy it earlier, still wanted the teamgroup kit but that was sold out. I had my eye on the Asus B850-G motherboard but the asus site did not explicitly list this ram as compatible. Since I was buying parts during Holiday deals in December 2025, I was able to score an RTX 5070 ti for MSRP along with other hardware to complete my build. I just finished the build for my son. I have to add that building a computer has gotten ridiculously easy. Once installed, the system POSTed and as soon as I got into the BIOS and enabled EXPO, the system recognized the 6400 and I was good to go. The RAM is running great and my son is happy with the build.
