💡 How to pick case fans
What to look for:
  • 120mm most common, 140mm moves more air quieter
  • Higher CFM = more airflow, higher dBA = more noise
  • Static pressure fans for radiators, airflow fans for cases
💰 Two intake + one exhaust is a solid baseline for positive pressure

★★★★★Quiet ARGB and PWM fans. Great quality.
To begin with, these are the same fans that come with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE. I was so happy with my purchase of their CPU cooler, I turned to Thermalright to replace the case fans in my Rosewill S500. Installation is very easy. Each fan comes with power and ARGB splitters, so I was able to daisy chain all 6 fans together (bought two 3 packs) without any issues. Also daisy chained the ARGB plug from the PA 120 SE and everything is synced up without issue. I have found absolutely no reason to purchase a fan hub at this time as the built in splitters did the job. I'm using an ROG B550-F GAMING motherboard, so was stuck with a single ARGB header but this was not an issue. Hooked my fans to one of the system fan headers and adjusted my curves using Fan Control found on GitHub and played around with the RPMs. In terms of air flow, these guys DEFINITELY move air. With these fans at full blast along with the PA120SE, I got my 3700x with PBO enabled (+200 offset) running as low as 27°C at idle. With the original Rosewill case fans, the absolute lowest I saw was 31°C. A similar 5°C was seen when running at full load using a 3DMark CPU profile test. Again, this was at full blast. With fan curves adjusted to lower power and speed, the system is near silent. The water pump in my aquarium is louder than my system running under normal loads. Despite the silence, I still have lower temps than when I had the stock case fans. Before purchase, I tried to find as much information I could on these fans and at best I could find a few reviewers comparing them to the Noctua NF-F12. While I have never used Noctuas and cannot speak from experience, I can only reiterate my system is nearly dead silent. Something to keep in mind is the sound will become noticable above 50% speed. If you need to run your fans at 100% for some reason, however, then you don't have to worry about any whining or related sounds. Your PC will sound like it just has a bunch of air running through it, unlike when a GPU (in my case an EVGA 2080 Super BLACK) ramps up and sounds like a fighter jet taking off. At this time, my fans hover between 8% and 30% speed and I can't hear them unless I really, really try. While watching videos or gaming? You'll only realize they're on due to the RGB lighting, and this is coming from a guy with his case 2 feet from his head. I haven't noticed any resonance issues at this time. Even sliding power from 0-100%, I can't say I've noticed any, so I'm very happy with that. So, they are quiet and absolutely circulate air in your system. The bonus here is the fact these are also ARGB. At the time of this review, a three pack of these are a third of the price of a three pack of Arctic P12 ARGB fans. You can get 6 of these fans (two 3 packs) for the price of a single Noctua A12. Again, these are the same fans you'd find on Thermalright's Peerless Assassin 120 SE and that's a rather quiet and very effective CPU cooler. For now, these are an incredible value and the budget/value space appears to be where Thermalright is dominating right now. From my research, Thermalright used to be what Noctua is to PC fans today. Don't sleep on these guys. I would not be surprised if more PC enthusiasts use these products when trying to maximize bang for buck performance. If you need new case fans or are looking to fill in any extra 120mm fan spots in your case, grab these. I don't care if I come off like a shill, but I am incredibly happy with my setup now. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to a 5800x3D, and given the temps I'm seeing on my 3700x, I know I can count on these fans to handle that swap and future builds to come.

★★★★★Thermalright TL-C12C-S X3 120mm ARGB Fans – Excellent Value and Performance
I needed three additional ARGB fans to match the three that came preinstalled in my GAMEMAX case. My son recommended the Thermalright TL-C12C-S X3 fans, so I decided to give them a try, and I’m glad I did. These fans are quiet, well made, and very reasonably priced. Build quality is solid, with no rattles or vibration, and airflow is more than adequate for a typical gaming or productivity system. A pleasant surprise was how closely they match the appearance of the stock GAMEMAX fans; once installed, you’d be hard-pressed to tell them apart. For anyone looking to add or replace ARGB fans without overspending, these are an excellent choice. They deliver good performance, attractive lighting, and strong value. Highly recommended for budget-conscious builds that still care about aesthetics.

★★★★★Fantastic Fans For The Price Worth The Investment
I built a computer back in November of 2024. I was able to get all new parts except for case fans. I had to use the old ones from my previous build. That being said, my computer was lightning fast but had an ugly whirring sound that was very obvious and apparent to anyone who entered my office and listened to the fans. Enter these fans. Yesterday I cleaned up my computer and gutted out all 5 of the old fans. I purchased two packs of these 3 quantity ThermalRight rgb fans. WARNING: If you want RGB functionality make sure you have enough RGB headers on your motherboard! I purchased a FAN hub that only gave power to the fans, NOT a fan hub that ALSO has RGB functionality!! If you're looking for your fans to light up make sure to either have an appropriate amount of RGB headers on your MB or buy a fan hub with RGB functionality! As of this review the hub that I purchased only gives power to my fans and one of the fans has its rgb 3 pin connector attached to my motherboard-- it is the only fan with light and color. If I had a fan hub with RGB connection all of my fans would be on right now. So beware; if you have regular fans that don't have rgb just get a regular fan hub because the one I purchased is technically doing it's job. All of my fans are on and began spinning successfully on the first time POST'ing again... They are ULTRA quiet. I don't hear a single thing. Major boost in peace from the older fans I had -- their sound is wedged into my soul forever... Now this computer feels like the new computer that it actually is. Fast, efficient, and deadly quiet. They all run fast up to 1500rpm and my CPU and GPU are idling at least 10 degrees celsius cooler than before with all 6 fans installed. Overall I am very very happy with these fans; just make sure if you get the RGB variant to have enough connectors on your motherboard or to have a fan AND rgb hub. The one fan that does have its light on is incredibly bright and is adjustable with motherboard software; can be made brighter or dimmer to your preference. Once I purchase the fan and RGB hub I will come post a picture to my review of my rig.

★★★★Great fans for price but colors could be more vibrant
Pros: These fans work extremely well and are very quiet for the price. I believe they are the most affordable pack of 3 fans on Amazon. The build quality is very nice as well. I like the square build of the fans, as it makes it look clean and sleek opposed to other brands that have some crazy designs. I’m not sure how they will hold up over time, but the Thermaltake brand has been increasing in popularity for its great price to performance, and these fans prove it. The airflow is what you can expect of any pc fan. It pushes air in and out of the pc case, and my GPU and CPU haven’t gotten dangerously hot at all. Cons: I do have three other cooler master fans on the right side as you can see in the video, and there is a color difference, which I understand they are two different brands. I did notice that the thermaltake fans are not as vibrant and can’t turn some specific colors like brown. I have the colors set to brown here, but they look more white than brown. Conclusion: Overall, extremely great fans for the price especially if you’re on a budget, but I do wish the colors were more vibrant. If you have other Thermaltake products like the AIO I have, the fans are the same so the colors will match. I highly recommend this product for the price, but there is room for improvement.

★★★★★Excellent Value Fans with Standard Connections
These Thermalright TL-C12C-S 120mm ARGB fans are fantastic for the price. They look good, the RGB lighting is clean and evenly diffused, and best of all, they use standard 4-pin PWM and ARGB connectors instead of forcing you into a proprietary hub. Noise levels are improved over expectations for budget fans; they stay quiet at low to moderate speeds and don’t develop any annoying tones under load. Build quality also feels above average compared to other fans in this price range. If you’re looking for affordable case fans that don’t compromise on compatibility, noise, or appearance, I’d highly recommend Thermalright. These are an easy win for budget or mid-range builds.
