★★★★★Buy it
I love this case. I like to lab around and do various projects and have always had a server rack with holder eBay gear etc. with the rate on power among keeping a dated rack cooled… it just got annoying vs fun.
This case handles 9 drives ssd or hd. The wire slots are optimal for space. Easily mount full size gpus (most anyway). I had zero issues mounting my A4000 RTX for AI VM and gaming streaming VM.
Most importantly it’s nice to have something near my desk that is quiet (replaced fans with noctua 120MM). My wife even said it’s cute, that to me is a win because I can keep it in a convenient location.
I just finished disconnecting my 42u rack and while I will certainly miss cos playing as a sysadmin…. I get to save money on electric and don’t have the annoyance of my garage sounding like a jet.
This case is just simple and that is what I wanted. If I ever plan to do any HA etc, I will definitely purchase again. The build quality is also nice.

★★★★★Great Case for the Price
Moved from the N4 because I wanted a full height GPU.
I think this is the sweet spot between the N4 and N5. Finally having drive brackets is nice, the rubber strap on the N4 (and other models) was just awkward.
The only thing I wish it had was more fan mounting options in the bottom bay. At most, you can have 2 exhaust fans in the lower bay, depending on the PSU size and placement. Meanwhile, there are front, side and rear mounting positions for the upper bay. I’d really like to have intake fans blowing air across the drives in the bottom.
Hopefully someone makes a 3d printable mod to add front intake fans like with the N4.
Regardless, this is a solid case, highly recommend it.
[Edit - April 21, 2026] There is a 3d printable mod for this case to add 2x120mm fans for intake on the front. It adds a bump to the front of the case, but also dropped my drive temps by ~8-10C, so a good trade in my opinion.

★★★★★Solid Build with one major flaw: Needs an SFX-to-ATX bracket
Great NAS case with solid build quality and ventilation. However, there is a design oversight when using a 240mm AIO. The radiator takes up the space intended for the PSU, forcing you to mount the power supply elsewhere.
Since I have an SFX PSU, I had to mount it at the bottom next to the drive cage. The cables down there are extremely tight and push against the HDD backplane, which isn't ideal. It would be a huge improvement if Jonsbo included an 'SFX-to-ATX' bracket to mount the small PSU in the top rear slot (where the ATX PSU usually goes). This would completely clear up the bottom chamber, leaving plenty of room for the drive cables and better airflow for the disks.
Great NAS case, but watch out for AIO/PSU clearance

★★★★★Best NAS case!
This is the best NAS case I've seen and used in the past 20 years. If you have a M-ATX or ITX motherboard. This is the best NAS case!

★★★★★Research before purchase!
I love the way how this case looks and the amount of drives this thing can take. The included fans is nice but they are a tiny bit noticeable on noise depending on what setting you have it on, if connected to the fan speed switch on the case. I'll probably switch those out for something quieter. As for having options for installing a power supply/SFX, its still limiting on where you can put them due to how your setup is and how long the cables are on the power supply. If you plan on using a regular sized power supply you'll only have one spot to put it and it also covers a good chunk of the motherboard so you'll have to get a low profile cooler or water cool if it fits. So please do your research and look at how you would set it up BEFORE you think about buying this case.
