For a budget cooler, or honestly even up into the midrange, this is an excellent choice. I've used this for several builds now, and have had no complaints. Third party reviewers have consistently rated this as one of the better value picks on the market, and that's been true in my experience, as well.

CPU AMD 3800X + CachyOS Temps: 45C idle - 70C gaming Incredible cooler. I went from a 6 year old H60 to this one, not wanting to go AIO again. This cooler was everything I was looking for, and for an excellent price. Only cons so far are that the first fan hits the first RAM module, so I had to push the fan a little bit higher. Also the RGB from that module is basically covered. But that something that bothers you at first, and then you don’t think about it anymore. Running on Linux, adjusted the fans speed curve at BIOS.

I have successfully installed the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler onto my computer system. The installation process resulted in the cooler being physically attached to the CPU, which is its intended purpose. The cooler contains six heat pipes, which are present and visible. Two 120mm fans are included and they spin when powered. This confirms functionality. After installation, CPU temperatures were lower than before. This outcome aligns with expectations for a cooling device. Noise levels exist but do not interfere with continued computer usage. The aluminum heatsink appears metallic and rigid. The black color matches many modern computer cases, which is beneficial. Overall, this product performs cooling. I am satisfied and am submitting this review because the system prompted me to do so. Five stars.

Fan is great! It does cover up the ram so rgb ram isn’t much use, but it’s a beast at cooling. My only complaint is the fan splitter that came with it had a loose connection on one side that came out and the other side only had 3 of the 4 cables to start with. So I have one plugged into the aio. I tried messaging thermalright but have yet to receive a reply from them about sending me a working splitter.
