💡 How to pick a CPU cooler
What to look for:
  • TDP rating must exceed your CPU's TDP
  • Socket compatibility (AM5, LGA1851, etc.)
  • Fits within your case's cooler height limit
💰 Air coolers are reliable and quiet. AIO liquid coolers handle high-TDP CPUs best

★★★★★Great cooler!
Very quiet and efficient. Large fan and powerful cooler! Keeps the CPU very cool while busy. Excellent value!

★★★★★Amazing Budget Cooler; 100% suitable for an APU system ✅
for just 17 bucks for a ThermalRight cooler, its an amazing deal; you get very good cooling for an excellent value, especially for APU systems. I only have 1 intake on my PC and this thing stays around 72C max when doing OCCT which is awesome. despite it going 2k rpm in intense workloads, it stays quiet. Quality seemed fine to me for 17 bucks, what more could you ask for? It can go up to 2.2k RPM and even then, its still pretty quiet and does a good job cooling my 5600G down. Now of course, if you have a very hungry CPU like 120W+, I would get a better cooler but for APU builds like mine, its an amazing deal.

★★★★★Great value.
I grabbed this because it was highly rated for the price. I'm using it with a 9600x processor, so didn't need a more powerful cooling system as that CPU does not run that hot. This has worked great so far.

★★★★★Makes a HUGE Difference in Temps--Quality Build and Operation
Bottomline up front: This little CPU air tower cooler makes a huge difference and fits great in smaller PC cases Bought this to cool my Dell Inspiron 3670 MT i5-8400 PC that I was turning into a casual gaming machine as well. Stock CPU cooler was just not cutting it--CPU was heating up to over 85 Celsius and shutting off. A better thermal solution was needed, I didn't want to drop a bunch of $$ to fix it, and it had to be something smaller than the standard size air towers using a 120mm cooling fan. Enter the Thermalright Assassin X90 SE V2, which uses a smaller 90mm fan unit and appropriately sized fin/block tower. This smaller size cooler is AMAZING! Just opening the box (unboxing video uploaded) I could tell the build quality was already there. For something small, it had some decent weight. Everything was packaged well, and the cooler itself looks and feels well built. From the heat pipes to the fins to the metal top cap (not plastic...ahem, ID Cooling)...this thing looked legit. Came with instructions, thermal paste, brackets, screws and standoffs, I installed it on my CPU and fired it up. Immediately I noticed CPU temps were 10-15 degrees Celsius lower at idle. With the stock cooler, idle CPU temps were hovering around 45-50 Celsius. With the Assassin, idle temps were only 35-40 C. But the real magic happened under load. Using OCCT to stress test my CPU, with the stock cooler temps hit 85 C before the PC shut down to save itself, and this is only after 3 minutes of testing. With the Assassin X90, temps never got above 70 C, and this was done over 3 separate 10 minute continuous tests, where the CPU was at max utilization for 10 minutes straight each time. Bottomline: if you need a low cost, smaller sized thermal solution for your CPU, this is definitely one to consider!!

★★★★★Cooling things down with this cpu cooler.
So far, so good, there are 3 separate screw packs and plastic tabs used as spacers. The screws must have been mixed up in the labeled package, so check the screws BEFORE installation. Once I found the corrected thread/size screw, I was able to mount the cooler support. Installation isn't too bad for someone with PC knowledge. It is rather big, so be cautious of spacing, but it should cool well with the added thermal paste. This cooling system is installed in a HP Victus 15L desktop with the Ryzen 7 processor.
