💡 How to pick a processor
What to look for:
  • Socket must match your motherboard (AM5 for new AMD, LGA1851 for new Intel)
  • Core count and clock speed for performance
  • TDP (wattage) affects cooling needs
💰 Budget builds: under $200. Mainstream gaming: $250-$400. Enthusiast: $500+

★★★★★Reliable CPU upgrade.
The CPU has been working perfectly and running cool for six months now. I'm very satisfied with it.

★★★★★If it runs hot, its probably a motherboard issue
Installed fine. My MSI motherboard wants to run it at the power levels it would for a K processor. And it actually works fine, just gets hot really fast. As seen under HWMonitor, it will hit the 100 degree thermal throttle limit when any significant benchmark program is run. I worked around this by changing the cooler profile in the MSI bios from "liquid" to either "tower air" or "box". "Box" profile changes the automatic PL1 and PL2 settings to run as the i9-13900 non-K spec limits. For a little overclocking performance, I set "tower air cooling" mode in the bios and experimented with slightly lower PL1 and PL2 settings as well as lowering the throttle limit from 100 to 95 degrees. Works great now.

★★★★★Runs cool as the proverbial cucumber!
I mounted this cpu on a MSI Z790 motherboard with an nVidia RTX 4080 Super Founders Edition. System runs cool. And quiet without water. Just remember to go into the BIOS and under cooling options select "BOX" cooler if using the one that came with the processor.

★★★★Incorrect Description
This is listed as the KF model - which DOES NOT have the integrated graphics - but the main description shows as the NON-K model (which is i9-13900 with any letters after).

★★★★★Killer CPU!
There seems to be some discrepancy between the Model # and the item itself. Rest assured, you will indeed get the i9-13900. See the attached for some rather impressive benchmarks. I did not think there would be that much difference between Normal and Turbo modes, but boy, was i wrong. Intel was quite helpful by providing link to their own diag tools: 1. Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU Report) 2. Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool 3. Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU). 4. Intel® Processor Identification Utility
