Works surprisingly well. My computer doesn't have a DVD drive and I wanted to rip my CD's onto thumb drives and it worked just fine. I didn't need to power supply. The USB port provided enough power. Good value.

Pro: It works. Cons: - Built in cable only several inches long; made awkward to work with. - Requires external power, provided cable that plugs into USB-A port, laptop power was not enough; used phone charger I had.
