★★★★★Buy this - it doesn't have ground loop issues.
This is one of the precious few unpowered 2.5mm headsets with a boom microphone on the market which doesn't have a shared ground between the microphone and the earpieces. For that reason alone, it's deserving of your business. The TRS jack integrated into the left earpiece is a TRRRS which has a true five-conductor setup in order to separate the grounds between the microphone and earpieces as long as you use the cable (provided by the manufacturer) which terminates in separated 2.5mm TRS connectors. This will avoid audio hopping from your earpieces into your microphone due to ground looping, but only if you avoid using the second cable provided with the headset.
The sound quality is great, as should be expected from this brand, but there are a couple notable caveats:
- First, the microphone will pick up some background noise and some loud high-pitch sound can physically carry between the left earpiece and the microphone if it's loud enough.
- Second, the construction of the left earpiece does have some plastic pop/crack noises as you tilt your head between your shoulders. That's caused by the TRS jack being pointed directly downward so the wire bumps into your shoulder and puts just enough torque on the earpiece to make it move enough to make that sound. The jack should, ideally, be realigned in future models to prevent this from happening, but it's not a deal-breaker.

★★★★★Cable unavailable
These headphones are light, comfortable, sound incredible, and the mic is top quality but the cable isn't available for purchase so I'm making a new cable tonight and that's a huge bummer for this price.

★★★★★It's good quality
I've been using this for a few months now. Box says this is made in the Philippines. it's good value, comfortable around the head and ears, and has clear audio.

★★★★★Pending the mic actually working.
After killing myself for two hours I've learned a few things.
We're going with three stars because I do like the headset, but this doesn't change that analog needs to actually work, and right now it does not. The sound quality is fantastic, but I get zero mic signal. I've got a workaround, but regardless of the hell storm scenario that is having to purchase more hardware to fix this, it shouldn't BE a 'purchase more hardware to use all the features of your device' situation.
And to be very clear, that is not Audio-Technica's fault in the slightest. ...but it is still completely enraging.

★★★★★Punch above it's weight
First off the sound is very good for the price. I came from a headset that was almost 70 dollars more and these by far sound better. Super light l. Mic is a little on the low side but that can be adjusted in windows settings and adjust how far mic is from mouth. Mic and cable are removable only downside is the mic slider for on and off is a little confusing. You have to turn it towards off to turn it on and towards on to turn it off. And the volume wheel is small and not easy to locate or turn. But worth the trade off to me for the sound quality and how they feel while gaming for hours at a time.
