★★★★★Great keyboard with incredible customizability
As my first mechanical keyboard, I was quite overwhelmed with choices of keyboards when looking to make my purchase. I had seen several reviews of various keyboards and brands and found that Corsair had pretty consistently good reviews. I saw they had just recently released the Vanguard 96 so I gave it a shot. I'm glad I did! I bought the one with linear switches, and they feel incredible to type on. I was never convinced that I really wanted a mechanical keyboard until I felt how much better typing on linear switches feels, and now I'm not sure I could ever go back to a membrane keyboard. The switches are smooth with no signs of wear after about four months of daily use. I also never understood why so many keyboard reviews mentioned the sound the keys make when typing, but I can understand now. It sounds great and isn't too loud at all. The RGB backlighting on this keyboard is amazing. I'm still not fully sold on kitting out my entire PC with RGB lighting, but this keyboard certainly makes me see the potential! The colors can be adjusted keyboard-wide all the way down to a key-by-key level. The animations are nice as well. They keys light up evenly across the keyboard. I haven't noticed any keys that are especially lighter or darker than the others. They're pleasant to look at. I think MAYBE the only complaint I have about the included keycaps would be that only the tops of them are shine-through, making the white key function markings on the front hard to see in the dark. I think if the function symbols/marks on the front of the keys were shine-through as well, it'd make seeing them easier. However, this is a very minor thing in my opinion. The LCD screen is bright and vibrant. It offers some relatively-useful options now that the keyboard has iCUE support (more on that in a moment). I have the screen showing the currently playing Spotify song usually, but it can also display temps, fan speeds, memory usage, etc. as well as the time and date and other things. I knowingly purchased the keyboard knowing it didn't have iCUE support at the time. For the first three or so months, I used it with the Corsair Web Hub to keep it updated and change the settings. It works well, though the customization is more limited when using it in the Web Hub, as you might expect. The LCD screen has no useful widgets, instead only showing still images or animated GIFs in addition to the usual status indicators for things like CAPS Lock, polling rate, knob function, etc. However, now Corsair has introduced iCUE support for the Vanguard 96, opening up a TON more customization options. Being my first Corsair product, I was a little overwhelmed by just how much customizability was suddenly possible! As this keyboard is still relatively new, there are some quirks regarding iCUE they're working on, but overall it's solid as it is. The only real issue I've experienced with this keyboard is that key presses would fairly often register twice in quick succession, causing me to have to backspace quite a bit and fix the many double letters it would type. I don't know if this is a common issue with mechanical keyboards, but I've read I'm not the only one having this issue with this particular keyboard. Corsair have since introduced a "Debounce Time" setting in both Web Hub and iCUE. I have configured mine with a debounce time of 3ms which has completely eliminated the problem. It doesn't add any noticeable latency to keypresses when typing or gaming. Because of this setting, I'm now completely happy with the purchase! The included wrist rest feels absolutely amazing! It's made of a soft, smooth material with ample padding underneath. It attaches magnetically to the front of the keyboard, so it's extremely easy to remove when cleaning it. I wish all keyboard wrist rests felt this good! Overall, I love this keyboard. I was able to get it on sale which made it an even better deal in my opinion. After using standard-layout membrane keyboards my entire life, I'm still getting used to the 96% layout of the Corsair Vanguard 96, but it's a solid keyboard and I don't think I could ever go back to membranes!

★★★★★amazing
this keyboard is amazing, truly. i got the purple keys and they feel and sound so awesome. i love typing this review right now on this keyboard, it feels so good. the only downside is that it doesnt use icue yet... the customization method is pretty cool though, you dont need to download anything, you just go onto corsair's website and it connects directly to the keyboard to customize its coloration, patters, keys, all the other intricate features along with the picture on the little screen which is pretty cool... you can upload whatever picture or little video you want? nice touch. i got it only sale for black friday so it was very worth it. 10/10

★★★★★Yes, it's Good as It Looks!
I’ve used a lot of mechanical keyboards over the years, and this one honestly feels like it’s trying to do everything and somehow pulls most of it off. The first thing you notice is how fast and smooth it feels. The linear switches are really clean and consistent, and combined with the 8000Hz polling rate, everything just feels instant. Whether I’m gaming or just typing normally, there’s no lag or hesitation. It’s one of those keyboards that feels “snappy” in a really satisfying way. I got the plasma switches and it sounds so good!! If you are an ASMR lover - this will scratch that itch.

★★★★Is this legal theft from corsair??
Honesty, one star is to many... i feel like i was ripped off by buying this borderline unusable keyboard, while using it, it will randomly black out, meaning lights, lcd, and inputs, meaning that it cannot be used, at least not until you reset it, which of course means that you loose any and all customization and settings that you put in place, and then when you do get it back, it will spam which ever key it decids to spam, until you unplug it, and plug it back in, for the second time, buecause you need to unplug it to reset it. not to mention the way that you set it up is also a joke, why is corsair equipment, not working with icue? why did they decide the web portal is a better option? because i can assure you, IT IS NOT, its worse in every way, and gets bugged out when you do have icue open, so, in order to setup this keyboard, you first have to completely close out icue, so, hope you have on board memory on your other devices, then attempt to setup the keyboard, then open i cue again, then have the keyboard blackout, so that you need to reset it, and then do this ALL OVER AGAIN, i would not pay $20 for this keyboard.
