★★★★★R65 vs. R87 Pro - You should get this keyboard ASAP!
Let's cut to the basics, lighting, sound, and feel. Today I will be comparing the Royal Kludge R65 keyboard and this one. R65 + R87 Pro = Both have amazing build quality, no input lag, I love the overall layout and everything on both of these keyboards and can really see this being a open door to anyone wanting to come into the world of keyboard enthusiasts, and the best part both keyboards come with a tool that you can use to pull out mechanical switches and keycaps. Lighting: Both have amazing lighting, but its worth noting the R87 Pro (this keyboard) has the RGB lights on the bottom of the switch so lighting could be a little off to be honest. But overall, lighting is there and the keyboard looks amazing due to the side profile also having RGB lighting. Sound: This is where it gets good. R65 - If you love creamy switches and a nice smaller design to it, I would suggest getting the R65 R87 Pro - If you love creamy switches but also love the thocky sound I would recommend the R87 Pro! Feel: Both keyboards feel amazing due to their pre lubed switches and I honestly feel like they are very similar in feel. Both feel absolutely priceless and literally the best typing experience I've ever had. Typing: I love linear switches on my keyboards now than ever, I used to want to feel the tactile feel and all that but overall typing on both keyboards (R65 and R87) are fantastic and I would go as far to say they both are better than some of the razer keyboards I've used myself. Notable mention: Royal Kludge, you gained another loyal customer today, and not only that, the fact that you did something no one ever does with their products which is make it to where you don't need to download anything for lighting affects to work flawlessly is the cherry on top of this amazing product. Both their R65 and R87 Pro come with no input lag at all. I've ever had any sort of issue with typing, gaming, producing, or coding with either of these keyboards. What's the main difference between the 2? R65 is going to be the top choice for someone who wants a nice 65% keyboard that sounds as good as it looks and is as good as the price is. The R87 is what I would recommend to those that also do coding, gaming, producing, and more. This keyboard has everything you will ever need whenever it comes down to basic productivity and gaming. I was absolutely sold whenever they released this keyboard. Overall score for Royal Kludge for the R87 Pro is 5/5 stars in my book. If you are looking for a good keyboard that won't let you down and is backed by an amazing company with promising quality and all, I would easily recommend this to you, and to all of my friends. Good job Royal Kludge!

★★★★★Great keyboard
I can't believe I snagged this for under $60. Board feels solid, the typing sounds and feels nice. This keyboard is also pretty quiet which I'd a plus because I don't wear headphones. I was going to replace the keys but once I typed on these MDA keys I instantly became a fan. Love the volume knob as well. My only gripe is the rgb color is slightly off and it's hard to get the software to work on Linux. This keyboard feels more premium than my previous $100+ dad and in paradise boards.

★★★★Updated Review: After Speaking with Amazon Retailer
This board is absolutely amazing when it comes to the stock switches and it has bright south facing lighting. I’m not super knowledgeable when it comes to custom boards, as I’m still learning, but I’d say this would have to rank up there among budget boards, for sure. Unfortunately, my RGB’s became defective after ~3-4 months and going through Royal Kludge official, I did not have a good experience. However, the certified reseller which I bought my board from here on Amazon is was absolutely fantastic. They offered a full replacement at no cost to me and without having to return my old board. And it’s been over 6 months, so I’m not sure exactly how long their warranty is, but it anything happens during your warranty they will make it right, even if it’s an issue that doesn’t affect functionality like the RGB’s failing. Furthermore, the seller informed me that you’re generally supposed to contact the actual seller of your board to get the most effective service. It’s very possible that my bad experience with RK’s customer service was simply due to the inefficiency of me contacting an entirely different entity than the company that sold my board. And even though I didn’t have a great experience with RK, they tried to help anyways despite me contacting the wrong place for service. It’s very likely they were avoiding RMA simply because I didn’t buy the board from them and all they could really do was answer my questions and try to help fix the problem in other ways. Still, I wish RK was more transparent with the firmware files for qmk flashing as the only way to obtain it is to contact RK. There’s no link or anything in the manual which would be nice if it was readily available to the end user. In any case, overall it’s an amazing board and if you contact your actual seller the service should be exceptional. I cannot speak for any seller, but the seller I’m reviewing here and the one for this keyboard here on Amazon is fantastic. They contacted me quickly and said they wanted to make things right with my keyboard as well as my experience with RK. So as I stated earlier, they did a full replacement and all they asked was I provide some pictures so they could send the information to their R&D team to ensure they can prevent it from happening in the future. Which I think is really cool and shows they’re committed not only to fixing immediate issues, but long term issues with their products as well. After being contacted by the seller and speaking with them I would absolutely recommend this keyboard as well as the customer service of this retailer. It’s a great board, great warranty, and great service. And of course, the keyboard itself is awesome. I literally had no complaints and other than getting unlucky with the RGB’s dying in my old one and the firmware not being easily accessible, it’s a great little budget board that types like a dream. I feel like the “cream switches” that come with the board are a perfect description for what the typing experience is like.

★★★★★Good keyboard! Don’t let snooty snobs scare you off!
So far it’s great! I was a bit hesitant before buying as I made the mistake of reading what people on Reddit thought. So many people complaining that “you get what you pay for” and how such a keyboard would never meet their high standards. Now that I have my hands on it it’s obvious those guys are consumerist dweebs. This keyboard is nice, clean, decent material, works well, looks beautiful, and great tactile clicks on the keys and the volume knob. We’ll see how long it lasts, but I expect it will be a while, so good purchase!
