This "microphone stand" is really well crafted. Nice solid aluminum, very nice finish, clean threading, and precise countersink holes. As a mechanical item it is very impressive. It is, however, small diameter. I am not sure how it would be used as a stand. It seems to be better suited to mounting microphones on flat surfaces. I can see it being superb on the outside of guitar/bass cabs, in isolation cabinets, in vocal booths, or on the ceiling for drum overheads.
