★★★★★unacceptable in 2025
The good: worked right off the bat with a E5-2680v4 and 4x 16GB ECC RDIMMS. Vendor is very responsive on Amazon. The Bad: - the BIOS exposes all features "available" despite many not working, and able to render the whole system unbootable. - ACPI functions are broken beyond all repair and cannot be used; forget S3 sleep or PCI power management. On that subject, the board is a power hog and consumes ~100W at idle all by itself. - Vendor is clearly not able or interested in improving the BIOS either with updates or cleaning up broken functionality, and no BIOS updates will be provided. - only 6 SATA channels are actually SATA3; the other 4 are locked at DMA133 operating mode. you have to guess which is which- they are not numbered or labelled. - I couldn't get a GPU to show up when plugged into a PCIe x16 slot. On that subject, the system has 3 slots but only one of them is usable for a GPU because the other slots overlap with the various board connectors (eg, USB3 header, com ports, etc.) I really wanted to like this board, but in truth this board is pretty much unacceptable in 2025- it eats too much power, does not respect any meaningful power management, and suffers from bios issues that have been solved years ago by mainstream vendors. I will most likely be returning this.
