★★★★★Solid And Well-Built Board That Actually Gives You The Chance To Enter Bios
At $300, this was the most expensive motherboard I have purchased by a long shot, but my timing was very fortunate as there was a $60 off coupon that brought the price down to $240. There is a very noticeable difference in terms of the weight and rigidity of this board compared to the cheaper boards I have purchased in the past, and that just feels like quality to me. MSI stresses the easiness of installation with this board, and they did implement a few nifty features that are actually worthy improvements. The first is the tool-less NVME SSD Frozr Shields and spring clips that don’t require screws to hold the drives in place. The other, which I totally missed when doing my build, is the EZ Front Panel Cable that is really like an extension cable, but I can definitely see where it facilitates the process of connecting tiny plugs onto tiny pins. Something this board does that no other board I have owned does is that it pauses for a couple of “Mississippi’s” during boot up at the screen where you would tap on Delete to enter bios. This screen usually just blinks and immediately vanishes, which is why we are all in the habit of spamming the Delete button as soon as the boot up starts, but I have been able to get into bios with just a single press of Delete because of this pause. No flashy design and no RGB, just a solid, well-built board with all the features I would ever want or need. And it does come with the Reduced Load ILM (RL-ILM) that is supposed to eliminate the bending issue from the previous generation of CPUs on the LGA 1700 socket. There are 2 things I want to note: the first being that an NVME drive installed in slot 01 will get pretty hot when gaming because it’s right under the GPU. My NVME increased 10C with just moderate gaming, so it’s better to use slots 03 or 04. The 2nd thing is that Amazon defaulted to shipping this motherboard in the factory box and it (the box) arrived with the flap open and a few dings in it. Fortunately, the board was okay, but the factory box is for store display and not shipping. Make sure to select “ship in Amazon packaging” to get proper protection.

★★★★★Love MSI MB
I recently upgraded to the MSI MAG Z890 Tomahawk WiFi, and I’m really happy with it. Right out of the box, it felt sturdy and looked great in my setup. Installing it was straightforward, even for someone who’s not super technical. The WiFi 7 support is a huge plus—I noticed my internet connection is faster and more stable during online games, even with others streaming or working on the same network (though you’ll need a WiFi 7 router to take full advantage). The cooling setup on this motherboard is also impressive; it keeps everything running cool, even during long gaming sessions. It is a bit pricey, but with all the features and smooth performance, I think it’s worth it. I feel like my build is ready for whatever upgrades come next. In conclusion, for anyone looking to build a high-performance gaming PC, the MSI MAG Z890 Tomahawk WiFi is a solid choice. It’s reliable, fast, and keeps everything cool—just what I needed.

★★★★★Greast motherboard for the price
Great motherboards. All the usual features. Nice that the CPU power cables are on the right top instead of top left, makes it a lot easier to install power cables even with an installed cpu fan. Lots of fan connectors. Motherboard software is nice. CPU temperature with a typical fan tower cooler works well. The only minus is mising a displayport connection on the moterhboard, but using a video adapter anyway, so not really a big deal. Nice to have two thunderbolt jacks though. Compares favoribly with much more expensive motherboards.

★★★★Two non-working units returned
I bought and returned two of the MSI MAG Z890 Tomahawk WiFi motherboards. The first one wouldn't POST at all. During troubleshooting I discovered bent pins on the CPU socket, so I returned it. The second one initially POSTed but started displaying a green debug LED and a debug code of A2 (IDE Detect). I tried everything but couldn't resolve the issue, so I returned it also. I really liked the feature set and pricing of this MB, but I'm kind'a shy about getting another MSI board.
