★★★★★Realtek integrated sound card is bad, not as advertised, and (or) misleading.
Update: Used Asus Warranty and performed an RMA for the component, and on return, I was able to re-assemble and operate. This motherboard assembly power on is slightly different from traditional (no "standby-bulb" power indicator). Asus did pointed out performing a BIOS upgrade and a possible replaced component on the board. It has a Realtek sound hardware with the ability to turn existing 3.5 sound input/output to 5.1 and 7.1, as advertised in multiple places (including the manual), however, IT DOES NOT USE IT, it is strictly 2.0 sound, which forced me to acquire an sound card for it. I was a big fan of Asus, until now. _____________________________________________________ When plugged, it was not receiving power AT ALL, all troubleshoots points out to defective INOP hardware. Tried contacting company trough Amazon, but it seems it was "too late" to return (bought in Jan, performed install in March, do your own judgement). I personally don't agree with the whole "ahh, too late, good bye Felicia" behavior when the hardware literally came out of the box.
