★★★★★Finally, a Good Gaming Mouse for Everyday People and Isn’t Just Weight Obsessed – Logitech G309
I’ve never really understood why some gamers are so fixated on weight. Does a few grams really change performance that much? If you’re not playing in tournaments for prize money, I don't think it really makes a huge difference. For most of us though, a good gaming mouse should just be comfortable, reliable, and fits our normal everyday lifestyle, which is exactly what the Logitech G309 delivers for me.
That said, this mouse probably isn't entirely designed for ultra-competitive players who obsess over little details such a weight or the fact it uses a single AA battery. I feel it was made more for people like me. Someone who is more of a casual gamer who balances gaming with work, hobbies, and other devices. And for that purpose, it’s perfect to me.
One of the standout features is its Bluetooth capability, which I’ve been hunting for in a gaming mouse. A mouse that connects to multiple devices and runs on AA batteries is incredibly rare. I’ve checked out Razer’s options, but the connectivity issues made them a hard pass. I did switch my G305 to a Pebble though because multi-device support was more important to me than pure gaming performance. The G309, though, hits both needs—solid gaming performance and seamless switching between devices.
The use of AA batteries is another win for me. I love the convenience of popping in a new battery (rechargeable or disposable) on the go, and in my experience, the battery life on AA-powered mice tends to outlast internal rechargeable ones. Brands often skip AA batteries to save on weight, but despite not doing so the G309 still feels super lightweight, and it even has an option to go lighter with a powerplay mousepad if I ever wanted that extra versatility.
The comfort level also deserves huge praise. Coming from the G305, I always found the shape a bit awkward, but I went with it for the battery life and price. It’s funny that some people now look back fondly on the G305’s shape, but for me, the G309 is a very clear improvement. The shape is more comfortable, and with my medium-sized hands and a claw grip, this is probably the most comfortable mouse I’ve ever used (not even exaggerating). The clicks feel solid, also with just the right amount of pressure to prevent accidental clicks, and the glides are smooth.
In conclusion, I’m definitely surprised that there are gamers who find the G309 heavy and hate on this mouse just because it isn't a direct copy of the G305 with refreshed internals. To me, it actually still feels lightweight and even comes in 13 grams lighter than my old G305. Overall, I’m thrilled with the G309. It’s practical, versatile, comfortable, and I'd personally say it's without a doubt the perfect choice for a more casual gamer like me, as well as a clear improvement from the G305 which I've used for several years. Kudos to Logitech for such a great mouse. Love it.

★★★★★Light, adjustable and comfortable
This is a great mouse. I use it daily. I pair it via Bluetooth to a laptop that I carry from exam room to exam room to see patients. It is light and capable. With the Logitech software I can adjust the track sensitivity and assign each button. I use the side buttons for copy/paste. The top button I switch around some. Seems durable. I have purchased extra of these for my staff to improve productivity.

★★★★★Such an INCREDIBLE mouse!
The Logitech G309 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse is a game-changer in every sense. Its ultra-lightweight design at 86g makes it incredibly easy to maneuver, while the LIGHTFORCE Hybrid Switches deliver unparalleled click performance with an almost tactile feel. The HERO 25K Sensor ensures pinpoint accuracy and smooth tracking, perfect for both high-stakes gaming and detailed professional work.
One of the standout features is the extraordinary 300+ hour battery life with just a single AA battery. This means I can rely on it for weeks of intensive use without worrying about recharging. The six programmable buttons provide a high degree of customization, which significantly enhances productivity by allowing me to tailor the mouse functions to my exact needs.
The G Hub app takes the customization to the next level. It offers an intuitive interface where I can assign different commands, create macros, and adjust DPI settings effortlessly. The ability to save multiple profiles in the app is incredibly useful, as I can switch between gaming and work setups with ease. This mouse has seamlessly integrated into my daily routine and fits perfectly in my work purse, making it an indispensable tool for both professional and personal use. Overall, the Logitech G309 is the perfect blend of performance, customization, and convenience.

★★★★★This is a good mouse, almost a great mouse
I've purchased 3 so far, only because once you've used it, you can't go back to anything else. The pointer precision with this mouse is spot on. The "feel" is even better when you have a high refresh rate capable display. "Smooth as Butter" they used to say. The oldest one I've had is so far 1 year and no signs of problems yet. I use the mouse more than 12 hours a day every day. The battery has only been replaced once. No issues with clicking or the scroll wheel.
Everything about this mouse is fine tuned. The default settings out of the box are good, the scroll wheel requires just the perfect amount of force to move, and the DPI/sensitivity is set to a good rate. I do not feel fatigue in my hand while using it and it's easy to disable to DPI shift button with the software. There are a lot of positives with this $90 mouse that outperform the more expensive and "premium" models. #1 best part of this is the replaceable battery. Why anyone would make a mouse without a replaceable battery (let alone buy one) is beyond comprehension.
Logitech's software is still the weakest component in all their products. Most software these days is terrible due to poor developer skills. It's a dying art for sure. Recent versions of G HUB are better, but it's till very clunky and resource heavy. Logitech please all we need is just the most basic UI to manage our settings. A simple Win32 App with no fancy stuff will do.
Time will tell if the optical switch solves one of the biggest issues with Logitech mice. I have several other models that are useless because the switches malfunction.
With just one minor change this could be a perfect mouse. It only needs hyperscroll.
