Running a Debian-based Plex server with a 12-drive HDD array requires a surprisingly robust power delivery system, especially to handle the initial spin-up surge of all those mechanical drives. I decided to try out this 1000W MOAIPLAY unit during a recent hardware migration, and it has been a very solid foundation for the build. The fully modular design is an absolute necessity when you are trying to keep airflow clear around that many hard drives. Being able to plug in exactly what I need keeps the case interior much cleaner. The flat black cables route easily behind the motherboard tray, though they do feel slightly on the thin side compared to the thick, braided cables you sometimes get with premium units from established brands. They lock in securely, so it hasn't been a functional issue. One of the standout features is the massive 148mm fan. It is genuinely whisper-quiet, which I appreciate since this machine runs 24/7 in my workspace. The ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliance is a nice bonus. While my current setup doesn't push a massive graphical load, having the native 12V-2x6 cable means I am completely future-proofed if I decide to drop in a heavy-duty RTX card later for local data science work or rendering out Fusion 360 models. I was initially a bit hesitant to trust a brand I wasn't familiar with for such a critical component. That said, it has handled my sustained power loads without a single hiccup, runs incredibly cool, and delivers exactly what it promises on paper.

This thing has been great. I'm using a gmktec k8 plus pc with AI and also play steam games with it. I'm running two asrock 9060xt 16gb challenger egpus which gives me some pretty decent LLMs. I have the 850w version so it handles these with ease. I'm planning on putting it all together in a cyberdeck so I'll also swap out the k8 power box to use this ora pro instead by making a cable and using a few of the pci ports that are still open. Be aware if you're going to use 2 oculink egpus with this thing, you'll need a 20 pin splitter. Great find though. Totally silent and lots of headroom.

I'm not sure how long it took but with this amazing MOAIPLAY 1000W PSU, I finally have a "fully modular " one. And what a difference it makes with quality of life doing a modern PC build! I had to do a rather ambitious migration and rebuild and while the motherboard and CPU were the same, this power supply, the case and the CPU cooler were going to be different so it was almost like starting from scratch. Being new to modern "glass and RGB" cases, I had to wrap my head around having cables going to both sides of the motherboard and the power supply had to be involved in that. The modularity made it easy and I could channel the main thru the holes in the casing and connect them to the power supply later. The set comes with a nifty bag with company logo to put the unused cables into and also has some bonus cable management accessories. At the $140 asking price of course a lot of the value for money goes to that 1000W capacity - but the build quality, reliability and design are all well worth it for this one! Very highly recommended!

I got this power supply to use foreign EGPU going to a mini PC using a oculink cable. Although I probably didn't need 850 Watts with some of the power draws of a high end graphics card I decided not to take any chances. The first reason was because graphics cards are so expensive because of AI I wanted a good quality power supply running it. The second reason was so that I had enough juice to handle whatever I would put in it. This thing is whisper quiet and it will actually cut the fan off when it's not pulling a large draw. It is fully modular The only thing I questioned about it was the cables because they felt a little thin but I've had no problems whatsoever. This thing has a huge fan on it, probably the biggest one I've ever seen on a power supply. Otherwise the bill is solid and it was no different than any other power supply to install. The fact that this is a gold power supply not bronze for the price, I'm very happy.
