💡 How to pick memory
What to look for:
  • Must match your motherboard type (DDR4 or DDR5)
  • 16GB minimum for gaming, 32GB for content creation
  • Higher speed (MT/s) = better performance, especially for AMD
💰 Look for kits in 2 sticks (e.g. 2x8GB, 2x16GB) for dual-channel performance

★★★★★Sad to see Crucial go
I've been using G.Skill memory for many years and been satisfied. I decided to get this Crucial memory just when memory prices began to soar. This one was significantly more cost effective then my typical choices at the time. I was pleased to find this works better with the motherboard I'm using in my primary system. With my previous memory, I would sometimes need to manually lower the speed slightly to maintain stability. This memory has not had the same issue. I just turn on EXPO (XMP) and it works. It has been flawless so far. I usually run 64GB in my system. I use it for both work and play. It is uncommon for me to use more than 32GB but when I do need it, there is no substitute. I chose the white sticks simply because the pricing was in flux and the white ones were a lot cheaper than the black ones at the time. Technically, black is better as it is capable of radiating more heat. However, I don't think it makes very much difference in this case. It is sad that I discovered how much I like Crucial memory at the same time they announced they will be exiting the consumer memory market in order to focus on supplying AI datacenters.

★★★★★Great quality
I grabbed the Crucial Pro DDR5 64GB Kit (2x32GB) 6400MHz CL40 for my rig and it’s been excellent—fast, stable, and easy to set up right out of the box. Performance has been smooth across gaming and heavy multitasking, and the sleek low-profile design fits perfectly without clearance issues. Compared to my previous Corsair kit, this Crucial Pro feels more reliable and consistent, giving me better overall value and peace of mind for long-term use.

★★★★★Quality RAM; However, only runs at 5600 on ACT1250. XMP not an option for Dell/Alienware.
I ordered this RAM with the hopes that I would be able to utilized the XMP ability of the Alienware ACT1250. I ordered the system with 16GB of 5200 MT/s with the expectation of immediately swapping it out for a 64GB kit of this 6400 MT/s. Before I even turned on the system for the first time, I swapped out the RAM. I had no issues with the system booting up. I read some people had issues with the ACT1250 booting up to a 4k monitor. I only have a 1440p, so just something to be aware of if you have a higher res monitor. I felt like the look of this ram fits in better with my system with the included black heatsink. The Dell/Alienware is ridiculously picky with it's ability to enable XMP. Supposedly only a Kingston RAM kit that no one can seem to find anywhere online is the only one on their "Dell certified" XMP list. The Dell/Alienware motherboard won't allow XMP to be enabled. This memory runs at 5600MT/s out of the box for my ACT1250. CPU-Z does recognize that it has the ability of the XMP-6400 and XMP-6000 frequency. RAM has been running fine with no errors detected with MemTest86. I've been playing Killing Floor 3 paired with a RTX 5080 and Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF and had no issues at all. I wish I could get the memory running at the speed it was designed for, but that's a ridiculous compatibility mechanism implemented by Dell/Alienware, not Crucial. Screenshots included.

★★★★★Great.
Stable, fast, and looks sleek. 64GB is plenty for heavy multitasking and gaming. No issues hitting the advertised speeds with Expo enabled
