I own the 32GB Patriot Viper 8200. Atnits Best my delidded14900ks was 6.2@7800 srable.for some time. Degradation on cpu finally set in. Runs ok @ 7000 and lower. But i upgraded to the 890Hero and the CoreUltra 270plus running 5.5#8200 stable. I did install nickel heatsinks onto memory modules. Fan blows on modules and temp as i watch disc is 28°c,mb26vram35, chipset52°c

BEFORE BUYING MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A MOTHERBOARD AND CPU CAPABLE OF ACTUALLY HITTING XMP. If you have a 4dimm board you're gonna have a rough time hitting the 8200mt/s XMP if you can even post. Not all CPU's will be able to hit the XMP either, just be aware before buying and do some research on what your components are capable of. I ordered the 48gb 8200mt/s kit to replace a previous 96gb kit because I was buying a new 2dimm motherboard (x670e gene) and wanted to push everything. These work great out of the box, XMP just works at 8000 (ran eight hours of karhu) haven't tried XMP at 8200 but based off everything I've seen from this kit I'm sure it'd also just work. Unlocked PMIC so you can shove tons of voltage into them if you desire. Cooling isn't great on them but that's not a big issue at expo as long as you have decent airflow. If you're gonna be overclocking the sticks hard you'll want to replace the heat spreaders since even with two 120mm fans on it at 100% they will get toasty enough to where it'll cause errors. These post just fine at 8400mt/s and probably higher but my IMC can not keep up with them. Still testing and haven't refined my OC but they're stable at 8350 (8400 with a .994 bclk) and have been amazing. I've been very pleasantly surprised by them. I was skeptical after reading some reviews but figured it was just people who don't know any better and I seem to have been right.

★★★★★Fast, cheap, and stable on the z890 Hero with 265k and 285k
You aren't gonna find any other 48gb 8200 MT/s CL38 kit for less than $230, and this one was $180. Keep in mind that it's not your average memory speeds. Not just any CPU or motherboard will run this kit at full speed. z690 or z790's with 4 DIMMs won't run even boot these sticks with XMP enabled. The z790 Apex Encore might run it with tweaks since it has 2 DIMMs, but you need a high end CPU and motherboard for this. I have verified that it will run stable on the Asus z890 Hero with both my 265k and 285k. The quality of these feel fine. The heat spreader doesn't feel quite as good as something by G.Skill or Corsair but it does the job. My only complaint is that they only come in red. I wish they had a black version or something because the red really stands out in my build but I changed the RGB to make it match better.

I paired this with an Asrock Z790i lightning board and a SP109 14900KS. Testing XMP (1.45v) as is resulted in errors running TM5 at 8000 and 8200 within 15 and 5 minutes respectively on a standard "Universal 2" 90 minute run. Manually testing with loose timings at 1.45v and 1.40v at both 8000 and 8200 again resulted in errors running TM5 7800 was stable at XMP and loose timings TM5 90 minute test. Testing how high these will boot, they would not even register at 8400 and required a manual reset. I ordered a pair of Teamgroup Xtreem 2x24GB 8200 sticks to verify my findings above and see if it was the memory, CPU, motherboard, user error or a combination thereof. Turns out it was the Patriot memory. Using the Teamgroup sticks, I was able to pass 8000 and 8200 TM5 full 90 minute run at 1.40v and 1.45v XMP in the exact same hardware setup. I'm still dialing in and testing the Teamgroup sticks, but they even booted up at 8600 so that's a future project. I must also make note of the absolutely cheap and shoddy heatsinks the Patriot sticks use compared to the Teamgroup sticks. They are the thinnest and cheapest heatsinks I've encountered yet on DDR5 sticks. Placing them on a scale, the Patriot sticks weighed ~47g/ea while the Teamgroup sticks were 84g/ea and it showed in the build quality and looks. Both were non-RGB. Yes, the Teamgroup sticks do cost more (~$70USD more), but you get what you pay for sometimes. Both are SK Hynix M die. Binning matters. Temperatures were not the problem as the Patriot sticks failed before even reaching 55c at 1.45v which is their rated Vmem. Running them at 7800, temps hit 70+. The Teamgroup sticks hit ~70c peak and still passed.

★★★★★Top tier budget DDR5-8200, just add more cooling
I put this Patriot Viper Xtreme 5 DDR5-8200 CL38 48GB kit into a high-end Intel build with an ASUS Z790 APEX motherboard and i9-14900KS and I found it to hit its full full 8200MT/s XMP 1 profile without any manual tuning. I'm by no means a professional, but I was pretty surprised at how well it delivered maximum rated performance out of the box with tight 38-48-48-84 timings at the default 1.45V supply rail which was as advertised. I could overclock this but the stock aluminum heat spreaders don't really do it justice (albeit I don't really have enough cooling to support this). Under load the temps rose to about 65-67 degrees in my machine, which mostly reflects the same issue that the other reviews had. For the price I had paid (about 160 pre-tax) this is a really solid budget RAM that performs like a top dollar product with a few caveats.
