★★★★★Upgraded from 4TB to 8TB
I updated my Mac desktop (4TB) and used this, 8TB, and I love the results. I also transferred the 4TB info to the 8TB. This was a major upgrade and have no complaints.

★★★★★Excellent storage device
The ability to store large volumes of data packets, when requested doing a query search unable to do research get the information that I have available to me on my local storage device with almost 0 lag. That’s what we pay for on local storage best money I’ve spent so far.

★★★★★Six 8TB QVO drives in a RAID5 array - Gen 4 NVME speeds with the reassurance of redudancy.
I purchased six of these between 2023 and 2025. Thankfully, I got the first five during the first part of 2023 when the pricing was much more accessible, by the time I got the sixth in late 2025, the price had nearly doubled. I've found the drives to be quite good for my intended purpose which is arranging all six for use in a single RAID5 or RAID6 volume which would be used for officewide daily imaging and other critical, redundant backup purposes. I'm using the six drives in RAID5 currently along with an Intel 14900K workstation and a dedicated PCIe RAID controller (Areca 1883i). Thus far, for two years of daily use, the drives have performed excellently and the read/write durability seems to be right in line with what I would expect from a large consumer grade SSD. I've had zero issues with any of the six drives I've purchased. And considering the relatively light daily use of the RAID5 volume (48TB total, 40TB usable), I expect the drives to last for many years. I've included some ATTO benchmarks of the current six drive RAID5 volume. All 8TB QVO drives are in operation in RAID5 which means that five of the drives are accessible for READ/WRITE use while the sixth is reserved for parity/rebuild calculations. Ultimately, the smarter choice will be to re create the RAID5 volume in a RAID6 array, allowing for the possible failure of TWO drives simulteaneously instead of just one as is the case with RAID5. In either case, RAID6 or RAID5, six of the 8TB QVO drives are surprisingly fast, considering the actual READ/WRITE operations combined with the constant need to calculate parity for disaster recovery and/or to rebuild the volume in the event of a single or dual drive failure. The ATTO benchmark image attached here is, technically, a better performing use-case than a single, high end Gen 4 NVME drive which was way beyond what I was expecting. It's a shame the latest craze with data centers popping up everywhere has driven the cost of these and so many other necessary components through the roof but that seems to simply be the way it is with the computer universe. Over all, after two years of rather technical use of the six QVO drives I've purchased here, I would rank their quality and performance as very high.

★★★★Samsung 8 TB SSD
I needed a big 8 TB drive for an Aurender Music Streamer. Wasn’t many options in the 8 TB arena, but I already owned a 4TB version of this drive which pretty much got filled up with my music files. Never had any problems with the 4 TB so I decided to get this 8 TB version. I anxiously awaited it’s delivery and 4 days later it was here. I carefully unboxed it and prepped my machine for the swap. Once installed the machine reported 7.5 TB! Then the machine prompted me to format the drive which I did and within minutes it was ready to go. I checked the available space and found 7.1 TB useable storage. It works seamlessly with the Aurender, no issues at all. The 8 TB drive I thought I bought, formatted to 7.1 TB! I realize in all drives you don’t get the stated amount of storage, but to loose almost 1 TB of storage is crazy! I love the product, but it’s really disappointing to find you spend $800+ on a drive and find out the 8TB drive I purchased is really a 7.5 TB drive!
