Now doing computer repair, I figured when other reviewers say they couldn't get the drive initiated, that they were doing so incorrectly. But they are right, I tried windows disc manager along with 3 other disc/partitioning utilities. Finally had to use my non-system disc utility that worked. After initialization the disc works fine and is quite fast.
