💡 How to pick storage
What to look for:
  • NVMe SSD for OS and games (fastest)
  • SATA SSD for budget storage
  • HDD for mass storage (photos, videos) at low cost
💰 Minimum 1TB NVMe for gaming. Add a 2TB+ HDD for media if needed

★★★★★The Best
We have bought 8-9 of these in various sizes this year. I had some trouble initializing the first few, but since then, all has been great. Several of our custom computer customers wanted the Cr****l 14K NVMe but out of 5 we bought 4 were no good, so we even swapped out the last one and have it running as a 2nd backup in an external Thunderbolt 4 enclosure. Honestly, I still don't trust it. We will be sticking with this Gigabyte 12K and the heatsink in the near future till something better is available. UPDATE- We have just tried to use this on a new 890 series board. Couldn't use the NVMe heatsink because the motherboard's heatsink overhangs to SSD slot. Does not interfere with just using the NVMe and the board's supplied heatsink, but the Gigabyte version is far superior to all the other passive ones. We then tried to use a custom water cooling element from Corsair. That fit OK but then you couldn't screw the fitting in as that was interfered with by the same motherboard heatsink. IMO not very good planning on the M/B manufacturers.

★★★★★Real Gen5 speeds!
It was time to update my computer. Going from Gen3 to an all Gen5 system has been a delight. I was concerned about getting a new gum stick from reading in tech articles about the chips failing so figured I would stick with a Gigabyte stick with the Gigabyte MoBo. So far I have been more than surprised with the speed. I hope they last as long as my last boot drive of Crucial M500 that is still going strong. I have my computer on every day of the week, all day long since I work out of the home.

★★★★★Fast
Good but I don’t feel much of a difference on my pc. I get that it’s storage and I should maybe only be getting quicker load up times nd stuff which makes sense.
