★★★★★Typical Seagate Rebadges, performance adequate for a TrueNAS build
Very nice drives... undoubtedly rebadged Seagate units which have not failed me before. Really quiet, with all drives running in a DAS enclosure, with the occasional clunks during data access - hardly noticeable. Drives do get warm during sustained transfer but normally run cool which is nice. I have had very little trouble with the MaxDigitalData / Go Hard Drive brand and in this day and age of old, new, and recycled tech, they are a great company to deal with. Edit: had one drive fail after a little over a month and the vendor is replacing it free, save for the shipping cost back to them.

★★★★★Good drive from a great seller!
What, a "refurbished" hard drive, no way. Even brand new HDD's can fail. Well, it does have a 5 year warranty but what is that worth? The price is certainly right so I decided to give it a try anyway. I have had this 14TB drive for a little over two years using it for almost daily for backups and videos without issue. It's worked out so well, I also bought a refurbished16TB from this seller a couple months ago. Well, a couple of weeks ago the 14TB made a strange clicking sound and then nothing. Nothing I tried could bring this back to life. Time to see if that 5 year warranty is real! I wrote the seller and in less than 24 hours I was sending back the old drive. In less than a week the new drive arrived. Now that is a company with great customer service and one who stands by their warranty.

★★★★★Fantastic Rebranded Drive - Great Cost/Performance
This product has gotten much hate, the drive I received was a rebranded Seagate Exos drive at a fraction of the cost. The 14TB MMD drive came with a 5-year warranty, the same as if I had purchased the Seagate Exos drive from an authorized seller. The drive has worked flawlessly and I have not experienced any weird behavior, fluctuating speeds, or a higher-than-normal sound. My array is located in another room adjacent to me (not soundproofed) and I cannot hear any drive noise. I would 100% purchase these again and plan to purchase more in the upcoming months as I expand my arrays and storage. EDIT: Its 2024 and I've know purchased 5 of these drives, all working flawlessly in my NAS, 2 report being Seagate Exo drives, the other 3 report themselves as MDD drives. I will continue to purchase this product for my NAS needs and hopefully ill never need to utilize their 5 year warranty.

★★★★★Very good deal with 5-years warranty. Beware of the PWDIS feature. 2 out of 3 not working.
Very good deal; 5 years warranty and very silent. Speeds are as expected (between 250MB/s and 150MB/s for sequential write). They have a weird feature that allows for power-disable the drive, but they ship with the adapter -- though if your NAS has the SATA power connectors embedded (eg. Jonsbo, Synology, etc.), hopefully it's compatible with it otherwise the drive won't spin. It's part of SATA 3.3 and later standards apparently. Despite my PSU being brand new I had to use the adapter. Edit: I ordered 3 of those and wrote the above after only testing one -- turns out the 2 others are dead: one doesn't even turn on (you can hear it starting spinning, stopping, trying to start again, etc. in an infinite loop), and the other one had growing unreadable sectors, before I even start using it (I gave up at more than 500). That makes me worried about the third one honestly.

★★★★★This hard drive functions as intended!
I've had it a little over a year with out problems. It is easy to set up. So far it has been durable. I paid $139 at the time! Wow, have things change! Value for the money now, you decide! Noise levels are about on par with a drive like this.
