★★★★★Oof
Well, I prefer to leave good reviews, but I ordered 2 of these without noticing the "Renewed" portion. So I suppose its my fault for getting into this mess and having to leave a rare bad review.
One drive appears to be in okay shape, but the second one... wow! Whoever performed the "renewal" should be ashamed of themselves for shipping out a drive with that many bad sectors. Every SMART flag for indicating a failing drive was triggered.
The "Manufactured Recertified with Zero Hours Usage, No Data Recovery, 1 Year Warranty" statement is interesting. Highly doubt these drives are coming refurbished by Seagate. How does a used drive have 0 hours?? Yes, plugging your serial # into Seagate's site will show a warranty, but because the HDD was originally purchased outside my country Seagate explicitly states they may not provide support.
There is a very small price difference between these used, not properly inspected HDD's and a brand new one. Skip these and buy the brand new ones. Every time.
Returned the one and will purchase a brand new one this time. Will do the same when the second fails eventually.
Thank you Amazon for at least making the return easy for me.

★★★★★Very good for the price

★★★★★Fast. Loud.
I bought this to replace an 8TB HDD (WD) that failed suddenly, in my 2 bay NAS. So now the two drives are mismatched (WD nas 5400rpm, and Seagate nas, 7200rpm), , but they seem to get along fine, even in RAID 0. Yeah, I do plan to buy the other Seagate drive.
Won't be able to assess the durablity of the drive, probably not for a few years, at least.

★★★★★Drive Failed after 8000 hrs of use
This renewed drive started to indicate I/O failures shortly after 8000 hours and this morning completely failed. There is always a risk when using renewed items from amazon however in this case I would expect this drive to at least hit 40000+hrs on a NAS that is constantly writing that being said this product form this vendor did not meet basic expectation and would suggest other chose a different seller for your NAS drive needs.
I should be noted Seagate puts the average life span on the IronWolf Drive at around 5-10 years or 100000 hrs
Maybe it was a random drive that I go if the seller would like to do an exchange with the drive I have now for the same I would be willing to run it and update my review if the performance is increased
