Don't waste a hundred bucks on the full kit, this is the meat and potatoes of the idea for significantly less. If you just want to see how it performs, buy this to tinker with instead. That said it does project the airflow in a more focused come compared to nothing at all and does so well, but it's also so horrendously ugly that it's not like most people would want this sitting on their desk. However I have a particular use case that makes this fan shroud super useful, which is I have a bunch of tech equipment high up on a shelf in a closet, and I need to push cold air from the floor up there to make sure they don't hot box themselves and overheat. I've been using a house fan on low power, but this or a couple of these probably can do a better job of pushing air around more quietly. For 15 bucks it's a cool (no pun intended) little novelty, and any fan nerd can justify the price of this a lot easier than the full kit.

I use this one these to direct airflow and it works. I tried before and after, the flow is very noticeably better. Yes, I know you can 3D print one for "free" (Noctua provides the files) but I don't have a 3D printer. Comes with Noctua warranty and their support is superb from past experiences. If any gripes, probably wish it came with the same all-around 120mm rubber gasket that the full fledge kit comes with. Overall I love it. I would recommend it for desk use or if you need to direct airflow in your PC case.

Works well to direct and entrain air; muffles sound slightly, and can be beneficial to any 120mm fan not just the intended ones. It's the only part that's hard to make without a 3d printer if you want to copy the noctua desk fan using a spare 120mm fan and a cheap usb to 12v power adapter.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I used it to move air in a failing refrigerator.  Does a great job to circulate the air.  I prefer it over the 200mm Noctua.
