💡 How to pick a CPU cooler
What to look for:
  • TDP rating must exceed your CPU's TDP
  • Socket compatibility (AM5, LGA1851, etc.)
  • Fits within your case's cooler height limit
💰 Air coolers are reliable and quiet. AIO liquid coolers handle high-TDP CPUs best

★★★★★Works Great!
Inexpensive, effective cooling, easy to install. Very satisfied. Second Thermalright cooling tower I have used and both work well.

★★★★★Great cooler!
For 35 USD with argb(got even better pricing sometimes) best value for money and beats sometimes noctua nh-d15. Important note - it is asymmetric shape, meaning it got a special gap for GPU but you need to put it the right way like the photos I have shown! Otherwise it will be too close to GPU and cooling of both components will suffer, just flip it 180 degrees to see which is better. Got it on my 7800x3d with mediocre paste application and getting max 79-80 Celsius at cinebech r23 which is 100% CPU for 10 min. Gaming max 67-70 Celsius on MW3, BF 2042 with ultra settings even after 3+ hours playing, fans are pretty quiet even at high load. Install is easy, get a long screwdriver and just put pressure on those spring bolts while you screw it or else they will spring back. YouTube is your friend. this CPU considered hardish to cool because of the way 3d cache is built into it, so should be good for intel 253w(13-14 gen) chips also as long as it is not an i9 or i7 with super overcloacking.

★★★★★Silent, high performance PS120SE
Been on my CPU since March 2023 (almost 2 years at time of writing) and going strong. I overclock my CPU quite a bit, so it's important to have a reliable and efficient cooler. This has been doing the job wonderfully. Love how quiet it is. And phenomenal price point (I was a bit surprised the price hasn't come down from when I purchased 2 years ago, but I guess it really still does stack up incredibly well today). Only reason to not get this is if it won't fit your case, so check that ahead of time, but this one works perfect in my atx mid size tower. (It's a bit slimmer than some other coolers, I've seen)

★★★★Really great cooling for the price
Actually it's really great cooling even if it were twice the price. I have better temps with this than my wife has with the top-rated Noctua (same chip). That's because this one has a better heat pipe setup than the Noctua. However, the fans on this one are really obnoxious. They have a high pitched whine when they run at 100%. If you have an older case with no wire management and already noisy case fans, you might not notice, but if you've got one of the newer setups that's almost silent, this will stick out like a sore thumb. No big deal if you're on a budget - this is one of the few components that you don't have to pay through the nose to get the best. I ended up swapping out the fans for some Noctuas I had laying around, and now it's nice and quiet, and still cools better than the more expensive one. If you built computers 10 or so years ago you'll remember the leaf spring hold-down CPU coolers that you had to press into the latch with a screwdriver, sweating whether the screwdriver would slip and punch a hole in the motherboard. This one has spring screws, so it's really easy to install without being nervous about breaking stuff. Intel users will need to install a brace on the back side of the motherboard, so this will be very annoying to retrofit to an already-built PC. For AMD you just replace the cooling brackets on the top side of the motherboard. Installing the fans is a royal pain, but that's true of all the side-mount tower style CPU coolers. The wire clips that hold the fans in place love to pop out of the fan while you're trying to slide it into place. BTW, if you care about the LEDs on the fans and your motherboard doesn't have an ARGB header onboard, you'll need to get an ARGB hub. These are not compatible with the non-addressable headers, and the LEDs will not illuminate just off of fan power.
