💡 How to pick a processor
What to look for:
  • Socket must match your motherboard (AM5 for new AMD, LGA1851 for new Intel)
  • Core count and clock speed for performance
  • TDP (wattage) affects cooling needs
💰 Budget builds: under $200. Mainstream gaming: $250-$400. Enthusiast: $500+

★★★★★Great purchase.
Great processor, good speed, comes with INTEL cooler. Keep temperature down in the 50C range. May need to replace thermal paste to get lower temperature.

★★★★★Cool and budget-friendly processor.
Intel’s Ultra processors seem oddly underappreciated these days — there aren’t many detailed reviews out there — but in my experience they’re extremely well‑suited for a wide range of systems. The chip offers plenty of performance while maintaining an excellent thermal profile. I recently used one in a media‑center build, and it exceeded expectations. On‑board graphics were a requirement, since quiet operation was a priority and I didn’t want to introduce a discrete GPU and its noise. The integrated graphics handled 4K/60 Hz playback effortlessly. With six cores and ten threads, it has more than enough headroom for a media center and would be equally at home in a general‑purpose home PC or office machine. Thermals are where it really shines. The system runs essentially at room temperature under normal workloads, and even during stress testing the core temperature stayed around 55 °C — very impressive for a non‑overclocked setup. Paired with 32 GB of DDR5, it delivers cool, quiet, and efficient performance without any tuning required.
