💡 How to pick a keyboard
What to look for:
  • Switch type (linear for gaming, tactile for typing)
  • Layout (full-size, TKL, 60%, 75%)
  • Wired or wireless with battery life
💰 Try switches in person if possible. Hot-swappable boards let you change later

★★★★★Good and heavy
Felt good to type on and to game on, too heavy for my liking since I move my keyboard a fair amount and need to adjust at times. Great stock features so you get what you are paying for without having to install anything. Get the barebones kit if you feel like you might want to swap the switches and caps out anyway.

★★★★Weighty, gorgeous, and quietly loud
This is a gorgeous chassis. The anodized metallic blue is BETTER LOOKING in person than it looks on here. It is both eye-catching and subtle. I can't recommend the look and feel of this metal beast enough. It feels substantial in the hands. For under $100, the quality feels substantial. I mark this down one star for the gateron blue switches. They are not bad per say, but the keycaps wobble a bit with these and they just feel out of place here. I would recommend choosing the brown or red switches if you like those. I swapped the switches in this for Box White V2 and it really helped the keycap stability and feel. And this chassis very nicely lowers the volume of a clicky switch. It's still clicky, but it's way more office friendly here.

★★★★★Best Home Office Keyboard Ever!
Keychron's Q-Series Keyboards are the best I've used, hands down. I bought a Q6 a few years ago for my home office and it has been working flawlessly ever since. This Q3 is for my standing desk station and quality is the same. If you don't need/want wireless connections this is the way to go. The base is very stable, heavy, sturdy, with no additional noise or movement from the board itself as you type. I also have Keychron's V-6 and K-10...the build quality on Q's far exceed both K/V series so if you are OK with cords, grab one of these before they are gone...the quality/value-to-price can't be beat. Portability? Well, it's a brick...not likely the best option for your backpack. The keycap profile is personal preference...I'm a fan of this keycap profile, noting that it is relatively high and has a large finger cup as compared to cherry or OEM. If you like tactile switches, consider swapping out the G Browns for other switches with a little more tactile response on the high profile keycaps.

★★★★★Sounds musical, and very heavy. Good!
This is an awesome keyboard. I got it mainly for gamers GM and the need for a regulation size keyboard so I can actually type when needed. Those 60%, 80%… don’t space the keys out like this one and then you can’t type like at your work keyboard. But who goes to work anymore? This thing is very heavy, like the weight of 10 plastic keyboards. The keys sound like a song bird. Noticed with this and I like it. Now that I have it, I wouldn’t go back to cheap for a full time work or play.

★★★★★The best keyboard I ever used! And it’s not even close! It’s not even hype!
The media could not be loaded. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/F1uOD8qw3-L.mp4 https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71R6aC7wDnL._SY256.jpg It’s 4 and a half pounds, and it’s heavy! And the case is machined out of solid aluminum and it has a steel plate with dampening foam for better acoustics between the front plate, and the PCB! And the stabilizers are lubed! There is no rattling in the stabilizers! At all! And the space bar does not wobble at all! Neither do the shift keys or the enter or backspace keys! And the sound! Not too loud, but a very satisfying sound when typing! And it is gasket mounted! It feels soft when typing it! It’s not hard when you bottom out! So it doesn’t hurt my fingers! (I am a very heavy typer) and the aluminum has a pretty blue anodized finish! I might change out the brown switches for something more tactical and heavier, but already, I went from 50-52 WPM on my old mechanical keyboard to now 56-64 WPM in just a week! The braided USB-C cable is very nice, and it includes a USB-A adapter. The RGB is nice and so is VIA key to customize the keyboard. I can’t even find a single complaint! It’s not even pingy! I took out the foam and it started pinging. But that is just as expected. I might do the tape mod to make it more thocky. But stock, it is a very creamy sound. I can most definitely see why the price is what it is. And knowing how good it is, I wish that I would’ve bought this years ago rather than waiting for a sale. It really is super high quality and the price is not only justified, but I would not expect it to be any less than it is!
