ECS IPC ECSIPC H610H7-M2 Motherboard (12th/13th/14th GEN) LGA 1700 Socket, DDR4, Micro ATX

I was looking for a cheap motherboard to house an i3 12100F i acquired. possibly like you, i searched amazon for LGA 1700 and by Price: Lowest first lol.. then came across this board from a brand I hadn't heard before. I almost passed on this to spend a little more on something with a recognizable name like an Asrock or Gigabyte but after looking up the company ECS it looks like they have some respectable history as an OEM. I couldn't find much info online about this board specifically but for the price... it was worth the gamble. At time i purchased this it was only $65 shipped!! How are they making money on these? In my hands this board is pretty nice, the materials feel just as quality as any other mainstream brand. Besides the mobo itself, in the box you get two sata cables, a decent user manual, a driver cd and an io shield. This board is pretty basic. You only get one cpu fan, and one system fan header. Didn't realize this until later but this is easily overcome using a pwm fan splitter. So i was still able to have two case fans plus the cpu fan. The bios is also pretty simple, the most you will ever do in there is enable XMP for your memory. A note on the bios... on the website i couldn't find anywhere to download an updated bios. The bios version this board came with was from 10-2023. I had no need to update the bios but i am concerned if someone else buys this needs an update for some compatibility reason they are kinda screwed. Maybe they can contact customer support? Will they be helpful? I don't know. fortunately i haven't needed support. imo, you can only be 100% safe with this board as long as you are using an 12th gen Intel chip. The website says it supports up to 14th gen but i saw one person on reddit who couldn't get their 14th gen i5 working without an update. So please consider this. I almost want to remove a star for this bios thing but it really hasnt been a problem for me and im super thrilled with this board for what i needed. For the price, i can forgive this. Just wanted to leave this review so there would be more info out there for this one. This is a solid choice for your money. HOWEVER!! After purchasing this i discovered another model called the B660H7-M22. Its $5 more but it looks like you get more USB ports, and an extra sys fan header. There are some other differences as well. But you should look into that one also it may be a better option.

For what you pay, this is a great budget option. I wanted to put together a PC just to do coursework on and this was perfect! Nothing fancy, just the basics

Needed something simple and cost effective. This motherboard did the trick, it had all the ports I need and satisfied all my needs. Glad that It came with 2 SATA cable for my SSDs so i did not need to buy additional cables.

Didn't know ECS was still around, I recall buying an LGA 775 from them years ago. Built a computer for a family friend, this was within budget and worked right out of the box, no issues, and no complaints here.
