💡 How to pick memory
What to look for:
  • Must match your motherboard type (DDR4 or DDR5)
  • 16GB minimum for gaming, 32GB for content creation
  • Higher speed (MT/s) = better performance, especially for AMD
💰 Look for kits in 2 sticks (e.g. 2x8GB, 2x16GB) for dual-channel performance

★★★★★Cool temps even without heat spreader on DOCP I
Ram runs great at 7200Mhz on DOCP I paired with a 9700X on the ASUS ROG Strix B850-I Gaming WIFI. It's in the memory QVL list for this motherboard and I've had zero issues so far. I'm using this ram in a SFF PC build using the eBlaztr case and in order to get it to fit under the ID-Cooling IS-55 (which barely fits in the case either), I had to remove the heatspreaders. After removing the two screws holding the two halves together, I used a heatgun (gently) and some thin plastic wedges (mine happen to be ifixit brand but they're basically guitar picks) and worked my way across the ram modules to separate the adhesive thermal pads. The key is to work slowly. The back side has no modules (at least on the 2x16GB kit) and a really annoying stronger adhesive pad but the same strategy works here as well. Just go slow and eventually it'll release. After that, carefully clean up the remaining adhesive (I used goo gone and a plastic razor blade) and finally bathe it in 99% isopropyl to clean up any lingering adhesive marks. Let it dry out for 15 minutes or so and you should be good to go! Temps without the heatspreaders but under the IS-55 are great- according to HWInfo64 my max temp was 41C which is well below max operating temp (85C) and even if that's not the module hotspot temp, I'm not worried since the modules are being actively cooled by the cpu heatsink's fan. "Idle" temp hovered right around 31C. I would recommend testing it with another cooler before removing the heatsinks if you're going to go through with it to make sure the ram isn't DOA. I had a Thermalright AXP90-X53 on hand already which has no ram clearance issues. Overall, very happy with this ram!
