This is a really handy little gadget to have on hand when upgrading storage in any small device, be it a handheld as it's advertised or a laptop, a small form factor desktop, a RasPi-like SBC, etc. The ribbon cable allows you to put the upgraded/elongated at whatever angle you need to fit it together. It connects fine and works just as described. I didn't do a before/after speed/latency test on the same drive to test if that affects it at all, but it seems to work 100% like it's not even there. I would recommend just picking it up to have on hand as a troubleshooting tool also, you never know when you need to verify functionality with a drive that may not fit natively on the device's motherboard.

Just as it says on the tin, this adapter will allow you to use NVME 2280 SSDs (big ones) in places that were only designed for 2230 and 2242 (small, smaller) ones. This particular adapter is targeting the steam deck (LCD) and the ribbon cable is the perfect length to use it there, but I’m using mine on an older motherboard to add newer extra storage to extend the life of that system. It’s not an active device, so there’s really nothing that can go wrong with it either.
