Below is the smart test result for the drive I received. 25,164 hours for a drive like this is fine. Start/Stop and power cycle are only 22. No errors. Low total read/write data. I ordered a renewed drive that was clicking when I got it. It was damaged and would lock my machine. Returned it, got another one that seemed good until 4 months down the road. BOTH drives were loud as hell... Well, now the second drive has bad sectors, SMART reached a few thresholds, flagged a couple of attributes, and it corrupted some of my data. Product return options here at Amazon state to contact manufacturer, but Seagate wouldn't even touch it for Return or RMA (they said "sorry, can't help unless you pay for repairs"). Luckily, AMAZON'S customer service is the best bar none, and they're taking it back (for a small restock fee) even when it's out of the return window. If you value your data, be VERY CAREFUL with these refurbs. As for me, never again.

8 out of my 11 NAS drives have come from here; I can't say how well they have worked. My oldest is close to 8 years with my youngst being about 3 years. I've had no failures in about 10 total years of operation on the NAS. I came back to buy another one. The price has gone up shaprly; they are about $100 more now than they were the last time I bought a drive.

The drives arrived packaged well enough. The label on the white box had a bar code and the word NEW in capital letters imprinted on it; however, when the drives were installed, the SMART report indicated 42+K hours of use each; nearly 5 years (4.79). The drives did not had a ding, mark or scratch on them and as other reviewers have indicated; they are a bit louder than the Iron Wolf Pros but in reality they are duty drives in an enclosure getting hammered by data constantly. No real complaints on the noise. I just wanted to confirm they are a tad bit louder than their counter parts. Installation went smoothly with the NAS recognizing them immediately and adding them to the Storage Pool effortlessly. These drives will run 24/7 like all their predecessors . I have no issues to report and the drives are behaving as expected; albeit, I wish they had less hours on them. Buy with confidence. Items arrived secure and undamaged. Given the rapid expansion of data centers and the demand on tech products, it's no wonder prices have risen so dramatically; so its hard to determine if I got a good deal but given today's economic climate and relative pricing to similar products, the price paid for these are about average. Enjoy your drives and may they perform as expected.
