★★★★★Keychron Q6 Max Review – My Endgame Keyboard
The Keychron Q6 Max is, without a doubt, my endgame keyboard. Coming from a $30 “mechanical” gaming keyboard, the difference is night and day—this is what a real mechanical keyboard should feel like.
The full aluminum chassis gives it a premium, rock-solid feel, and the gasket-mounted design makes typing incredibly satisfying with just the right amount of flex. The hot-swappable switches add a layer of customization, but even stock, they feel smooth and responsive.
I use it wired-only, so I can’t speak to the Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless, but it’s great knowing the options are there if I ever need them. The wired experience has been flawless—zero lag, ultra-responsive keystrokes, and a typing feel that makes every keystroke satisfying.
Compared to my old keyboard, this is a massive upgrade. No more hollow keystrokes or mushy feel or squeaky keys—just pure mechanical bliss. If you want a high-quality, customizable, and premium keyboard, the Q6 Max is absolutely worth it.
Final Verdict: 10/10 – This is the one.

★★★★★Q6 max keyboard review
Very crisp feel and sound, definitely easy to setup and use. I feel like it’s super sturdy and will last me a while. Comes with key cap removal tools and easy to switch out the switches. The LED isn’t super bright but it’s good enough for me. It’s definitely worth the cost as the macros are easy to setup and it feels like it’s built to last

★★★★★Nice
Really happy with it. It’s a solid, heavy mechanical keyboard and the red switches feel and sound great. I like a full keyboard and the stock keycaps, but it is really easy to pop them off with the provided tool if you want to switch them out and customize from there. Out of the box it had the Mac layout installed, but again it was easy to switch to the Windows keys provided too. It’s been great and easy to use. I can’t comment on Keychron’s software, I haven’t had any reason to download it since my computer recognized the keyboard as is. I turned the backlight off using the key commands and haven’t needed to change any settings otherwise. It’s been responsive and I haven’t lost connection once so far. It’s has great battery life too compared to other wireless keyboards I’ve had. I usually only need to charge it once a month, and even less frequently when I’m not on the computer as much. Seems like it will hold up, so it’s been a good upgrade for me.

★★★★★Like the Keyboard, Not the Experience
I originally ordered this keyboard (Q6 Max) on November 30, 2025, and it arrived on December 8 properly shrink-wrapped. During setup, I discovered that the Wi-Fi dongle was not working. Bluetooth and wired connections functioned fine.
I also learned that programming the keyboard using Keychron Launcher requires a wired connection, apparently you can't use the dongle on this model. I wanted to assign two of the four keys above the number pad for use with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, but they would not stay learned into the keyboard once the keyboard was unplugged. Every time I programmed the keys (for whatever application) and disconnected the cable, the programmed functions or shortcuts stopped working. I also attempted a factory reset, which did not resolve the issue.
For the issues I was experiencing, I contacted Amazon. The representative suggested that the dongle may have become unpaired, though they didn’t have a clear explanation or solution for the programming issue. Since I had purchased the keyboard during a Black Friday sale and it was no longer discounted by the time it arrived, Amazon offered to send a replacement and have me return the original unit. Aside from the dongle and programming issues, the original keyboard itself worked perfectly in terms of typing, overall feel, and they keys themselves did not have any issues.
The replacement shipped on December 15 and arrived on December 20. Unfortunately, when I opened it, it was clearly used and in very poor condition. The box was covered in stickers, there was no shrink wrap, the keyboard bag had already been opened, and there was even hair stuck to the adhesive on the bag. I took photos immediately and contacted Amazon again.
While the customer service representative was polite, they implied the issue was with the manufacturer/seller (Keychron), even though these keyboards are shipped and sold by Amazon. Because I had already received one “bad” replacement, Amazon said they could not send another and advised me to return it. If I wanted another keyboard, I would have to place a completely new order with a later delivery date.
I really like this keyboard overall. It has a great sound and a nice pop without being overly loud or disruptive. I also appreciate the 20+ lighting pattern options, though I do wish the lighting went through the tops of the keycaps like it does on my K2.
The major downside is my overall experience. For the price point, it has been extremely frustrating just trying to receive a fully functional, brand-new product. My older K2 keyboard worked perfectly fine and was less expensive but was not as customizable - this product should be customizable when it works, but I wanted to upgrade to a full-size keyboard.
At this point, I’m not sure I will reorder the Q6 Max due to the hassle involved. I’ve also seen other posts mentioning this same keyboard arriving with rocky or uneven-feeling keys or other problems. The first unit I received didn’t have that issue at all, which makes it even more disappointing that the problem with it was the non-working dongle and programming.
